Graham & Rosemary Murphy - Extreme 570 Sport Fisher

"When I later met with Glenn I was instantly struck by his enthusiasm for his product. An on water test was arranged and as soon as I experienced the boats handling my mind was made up and the order was placed."

When we moved to Whakatane in February 2007 for our previous landlocked rural location we were immediately impressed by the numerous resources that the Eastern Bay of Plenty has to offer. Ater I had been on a few fishing trips with mates and the family had been up tot he lakes for the odd day trip we soon decided what we needed to purchase a boat in order for our family to be able to make the most of the areas asset's.

A first time boat buyers, we had a lot to learn before we parted with our money. Our knowledge of boats was very limited and because of this we quickly decided that buying second hand wasn't an option as we didn't want to get sucked into buying a dud.

We quickly narrowed our search down to two local manufacturers of aluminium boats and it was around this time that the Extreme Boats guys won the 2007 Hutchwilco Boat show prize for their 570 Sport Fisher, which just happened to be the size boat we were looking at.

The boat show award really got our interest and it didn't escape our attention that this award had knocked the other manufacturer off a perch that had been their's for about five or six years. Consequently a visit to the Extreme Boats factory at Thornton was hastily arranged.

I first met with Di and we had a chat about their boats and I was shown photos of the boat that had won the boat show prize. When I later mest with Glenn I was instantly struck by his enthusiasm for his product. An on water test was arranged and as soon as I experienced the boats handling my mind was made up and the order was placed.

We wanted the boat delivered just before Christmas 2007 which fitted in well with Glenn's schedule. Once the project got under way I was able to visit the factory regularly to observe the progress. This was a marvellous experience as I was able to see exactly what goes into these boats. All the staff at the factory were very welcoming and happy to answer any of the several thousand stupid questions that I was firing at them on my visits.

The only problem we experienced with the whole projext was a faulty starter motor on the outboard that I had suppli9ed. Glenn went out of his way to get this problem sorted for me even though it was none of their doing. Glenn pulled some strings here and there over the weekend and a new started motor was located and we were on the water for Christmas.

In the six months that we have owned the boat we have clocked up over sixty hours without any problems what so ever. The boat has been out in all sorts of conditions and has handled it all with ease. As a new skipper I have hound the boat to be very forgiving and that my lack of experience as a skipper has been largely negated by the boats exceptional handling characteristics.

Glenn and all the staff at Extreme Boats have been outstanding to deal with they are professional, friendly and always willing to help. The Extreme Boats product is superb in both design and quality and I would not hesitate to purchase another boat from them...... In fact I may already have a few ideas kicking around my head for the next one!
